Spirit

The universe is full of unseen forces. Gravity makes it possible for us to move around without floating away into space. Electricity provides us with heat and light. Magnetism keeps the tides ebbing and flowing. We cannot see these forces – but we can see their effects. We know they are there.

Watch the plasma ball for a few moments. What are you seeing? Energy? Light? Electricity?

As you move to touch the plasma ball, watch what happens to the streams inside. How are they affected when you touch your hand to the glass?

The Bible tells of another unseen force in the universe – the Spirit of God. A creative force which is present throughout history. A breath which sustains life on our planet. A presence which can bring healing, wisdom and knowledge.

To experience this force, we have to reach out – to connect. Christians call this connection ‘prayer’. It is a way of communicating with the unseen – with God.

As you move your hand over the plasma ball, ask yourself the question:
‘What do I want to say to God?’
Present your questions to him.
Have you made a connection?
Listen carefully
Maybe you will hear the spirit of God.
